Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC Review: A Compact and Reliable Pedalboard

Are you a guitarist or bassist looking for a compact and reliable pedalboard to organize your effects pedals? The Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC, measuring 20 x 8 inches and coming with a hard case, might be just what you need. This pedalboard is designed for musicians who need a portable solution that can withstand the rigors of gigging and touring. It offers a balance of size, durability, and ease of use, making it a popular choice among players of all levels.

This review will dive deep into the Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC, covering its key features, pros and cons, and who it's best suited for. We'll also compare it to other pedalboards on the market to help you make an informed decision. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, this review will provide valuable insights into the Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC.

Key Features of the Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC

The Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC boasts several features that make it a compelling option for guitarists and bassists:

  • Compact Size: The 20 x 8-inch dimensions provide ample space for a selection of essential pedals while remaining highly portable.
  • Lightweight Construction: Made from aircraft-grade aluminum, the Metro 20 is lightweight yet incredibly durable.
  • Included Hard Case: The rugged hard case offers excellent protection during transport and storage, ensuring your pedals remain safe from damage.
  • Angled Design: The angled surface improves pedal accessibility and allows for easier cable routing.
  • Hook-and-Loop Fastener Included: Comes with ample hook-and-loop fastener to securely attach your pedals to the board.

Pros: What We Love About the Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC

  • Excellent Portability: The compact size and lightweight design make the Metro 20 incredibly easy to transport to gigs and rehearsals. Compared to larger pedalboards from brands like Temple Audio or Schmidt Array, this is a significant advantage for musicians who value convenience.
  • Robust Durability: The aircraft-grade aluminum construction and included hard case provide exceptional protection against the wear and tear of regular use. This is a crucial factor for musicians who travel frequently or play in demanding environments. It provides more protection than soft cases offered with some other brands.
  • Convenient Angled Design: The angled surface makes it easier to access and operate your pedals, especially during live performances. It also facilitates cleaner cable management, reducing the risk of accidental disconnections.
  • Hard Case Protection: The hard case is a fantastic addition, offering peace of mind when travelling. It protects the pedalboard from bumps, scrapes, and other potential damage.
  • Easy to Setup: Setting up the pedalboard is straightforward. The included hook-and-loop fastener makes attaching pedals quick and simple.

Cons: What Could Be Improved

  • Limited Space for Power Supply: While the Metro 20 offers enough space for pedals, accommodating a larger power supply underneath can be challenging. Users may need to consider a smaller power supply or mount it on top of the board. Competitors like Mono offer pedalboards with more dedicated space for power supplies.
  • Price Point: At $139.99, the Metro 20 TC might be considered slightly expensive compared to some budget-friendly alternatives like those from Donner or RockBoard. However, the quality of construction and the included hard case justify the price for many users.

Who Should Buy the Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC?

The Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC is an excellent choice for a variety of musicians:

  • Gigging Musicians: Its portability and durability make it ideal for musicians who frequently perform live. The hard case ensures that your pedals are well-protected during transport, and the compact size makes it easy to carry from gig to gig.
  • Space-Conscious Players: If you have a limited number of pedals or need a pedalboard that can fit in a small space, the Metro 20 is a perfect fit. It offers enough room for your essential effects without taking up too much space on stage or in your practice room.
  • Players Seeking Durability: The robust construction and included hard case make the Metro 20 a long-lasting investment. If you're looking for a pedalboard that can withstand the rigors of touring and regular use, this is an excellent option.
However, if you require a large pedalboard for numerous effects or need ample space for a bulky power supply, you might want to consider a larger model from Pedaltrain or another brand. Also, if you are on a very tight budget, exploring alternative brands with lower price points might be worthwhile, although you may sacrifice some durability and features.

Conclusion: Is the Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC Worth It?

The Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC offers a compelling combination of portability, durability, and convenience. While it may be slightly more expensive than some budget options and has limited space for large power supplies, its robust construction, included hard case, and convenient angled design make it a worthwhile investment for gigging musicians and players who value quality and reliability. The Metro 20 TC strikes an excellent balance between size and functionality, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of players.

Ultimately, if you are looking for a durable, portable, and reliable pedalboard with a protective hard case, the Pedaltrain Metro 20 TC is an excellent choice. Check it out today and upgrade your pedal setup!

I've tried a few cheaper brands but the USC Icing is definitely worth the extra cash. It spreads really thin without those annoying pinholes which saves me so much time on sanding. Highly recommend for any serious body work.

these are actually pretty sturdy. i bought them for my pantry to hold snacks and onion/potatoes and they look great. one of them had a little bit of the rope sticking out but i just tucked it back in. good value for a 4 pack tbh.

As someone who is very particular about ingredients, the concentration in this Median formula is impressive. The tartar control is effective and the mint isn't overpowering. While the price point is higher, the quality of the cleaning agents justifies the cost for those with stubborn plaque issues.

I've tried every "whitening" and "pro" toothpaste out there and usually they're just overhyped. Median is different though. After using it for a month, my teeth feel smoother and I don't get that "fuzzy" feeling by the end of the work day. It's expensive for a tube of toothpaste, but I'm willing to pay for the quality.

This was recommended by my physical therapist for my upper back tension. The gel consistency is superior to liquid packs and provides a more even distribution of cold. Very professional-grade product.

I’m on the fence about Arnique. On one hand, the bromelain/arnica combo is smart and it feels very high quality. On the other hand, it took a long time to ship and the tube is pretty small for the price. It worked decently on my bruising but the swelling stayed for a while. Tbh I might just stick to arnica tablets next time and see if that works better.
