Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush Review: Is This Hot Air Brush Attachment Worth It?

Tired of juggling a brush and a hairdryer? The Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush, an attachment for the popular Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System, promises to simplify your hair styling routine. This hot air brush straightening tool aims to deliver sleek, smooth results for a variety of hair types, from straight to coily. At a price point of around $39, it positions itself as an accessible option for achieving salon-worthy styles in the comfort of your own home. But does it live up to the hype? This review dives deep into the Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush to help you decide if it's the right tool for your hair needs.

The Shark FlexStyle system has garnered attention for its versatility and ability to transform into different styling tools. The paddle brush attachment adds another layer of functionality, allowing users to straighten and smooth their hair while drying. This 2-in-1 approach can save time and effort, particularly for those who struggle with coordinating a traditional hairdryer and brush. We'll explore its key features, advantages, and disadvantages to provide a comprehensive overview.

Key Features of the Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush

Here's a breakdown of the key features and specifications of the Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush:

  • Compatibility: Designed specifically for use with the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System.
  • Bristle Design: Features a combination of bristles designed to grip hair and distribute heat evenly for smooth straightening.
  • Hair Type Versatility: Marketed for use on straight, wavy, curly, and coily hair types.
  • Material: Constructed from durable materials for long-lasting use.
  • Color: Available in Stone color.

Pros: What We Love About the Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush

  • Streamlines Styling: Combines drying and straightening into one step, saving time and effort, especially compared to using a round brush or flat iron after blow drying.
  • Reduces Frizz: The hot air and bristle design work together to smooth the hair cuticle, resulting in a noticeable reduction in frizz and flyaways.
  • Easy to Use: The ergonomic design and swivel cord make it comfortable to maneuver and style hair from different angles. Compared to other straightening brushes, the handle is comfortable to hold.

Cons: Drawbacks to Consider

  • Requires FlexStyle System: This attachment is useless without the base Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System, an additional investment.
  • Heat Distribution: Some users have reported uneven heat distribution, which can lead to inconsistent straightening or potential heat damage if not used carefully.

Who Should Buy the Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush?

The Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush is a great choice for individuals who already own the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System and are looking for a convenient way to straighten and smooth their hair while drying. It's particularly well-suited for those with wavy or slightly curly hair who want to achieve a sleek, straight look with minimal effort. Individuals with thicker or coarser hair may find that it takes longer to achieve desired results compared to a traditional flat iron.

If you frequently style your hair and value time-saving tools, this attachment can be a valuable addition to your routine. The paddle brush is also beneficial for those who struggle with coordinating a separate brush and hairdryer. However, if you don't already own the FlexStyle system, you'll need to factor in the cost of the base unit. Consider your hair type, styling habits, and budget before making a purchase. Competitors to consider include similar attachments for the Dyson Airwrap and standalone hot air brushes like the Revlon One-Step Volumizer.

Conclusion: Is the Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush Worth Buying?

The Shark FlexStyle Paddle Brush is a worthwhile investment if you already own the Shark FlexStyle system and are looking for a convenient way to straighten your hair while drying. While there are some minor drawbacks regarding heat distribution and the necessity of owning the base unit, the time-saving and frizz-reducing benefits make it a compelling option. It offers a good balance of price and performance for achieving smooth, salon-worthy styles at home. We recommend it, especially for those looking for a more gentle heat styling alternative to a traditional flat iron.

It’s okay. The quality is decent for sixteen bucks but it’s kinda heavy and bulky in my hand compared to my old nylon one. I like the idea of the double handle but i find myself tripping over it sometimes when he’s just walking normal. tbh i think its meant for bigger dogs only so keep that in mind if u have a medium sized pup.
