Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder (Pack of 2) Review: Is It the Right Spice for You?\n\nAre you looking to add a touch of authentic Indian flavor to your cooking without blowing your head off? Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder might be the perfect solution. This widely available spice blend promises a balanced taste, suitable for everything from quick weeknight dinners to more elaborate weekend feasts. This review will delve into the features, benefits, and potential drawbacks of Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder, giving you a clear understanding of whether it's the right choice for your culinary needs.\n\nSharwood's is a well-known brand in the UK and beyond, offering a range of Indian-inspired cooking sauces, pastes, and spices. Their Medium Curry Powder aims to provide a versatile base for various curry dishes, appealing to those who prefer a milder spice level. In this review, we'll examine its flavor profile, ease of use, and overall value for money.\n\n## Key Features of Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder\n\n Flavor Profile: A blend of coriander, turmeric, cumin, fenugreek, and chili, designed to provide a balanced and aromatic curry flavor without excessive heat.\n Convenience: Pre-mixed and ready to use, saving you time and effort in measuring and blending individual spices.\n Packaging: Comes in a pack of two 102g containers, offering good value and ensuring you always have some on hand.\n Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of dishes, including curries, stews, marinades, and even vegetable roasts.\n Shelf Life: Typically has a long shelf life when stored in a cool, dry place, allowing you to keep it for future use.\n\n## Pros: What We Love About Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder\n\n Mild and Approachable Flavor: The medium spice level makes it ideal for those who are sensitive to heat or prefer a more subtle curry flavor. It's perfect for introducing children or spice-averse friends and family to the world of curry.\n Convenient and Time-Saving: The pre-mixed blend eliminates the need to measure out individual spices, saving you valuable time in the kitchen. This is particularly useful for busy weeknights when you want a quick and easy meal.\n Versatile and Adaptable: This curry powder isn't just for curries. You can use it to add flavor to soups, stews, marinades, vegetable dishes, and even as a rub for grilled meats. Its versatility makes it a great addition to any spice rack.\n\n## Cons: Where Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder Falls Short\n\n Lacks Depth of Flavor Compared to Homemade Blends: While convenient, pre-mixed blends often lack the complex depth of flavor that comes from freshly ground spices or a custom-made curry powder. More experienced curry cooks might find it a bit simplistic.\n Can Be Bland Without Additional Seasoning: While marketed as "Medium," some users may find the flavor a bit bland on its own. Adding fresh herbs, garlic, ginger, or chili can significantly enhance the overall taste. This is especially true when comparing it to other brands, such as Patak's or Schwartz, which tend to have a more potent flavor profile.\n\n## Who Should Buy Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder?\n\nSharwood's Medium Curry Powder is an excellent choice for beginner cooks, busy individuals, and those who prefer a milder curry flavor. If you're new to Indian cooking or simply don't have the time to measure out individual spices, this pre-mixed blend can be a lifesaver. It's also a great option for families with children or anyone who is sensitive to spicy food.\n\nThis curry powder is also suitable for anyone looking for a versatile spice blend to add flavor to a variety of dishes. Whether you're making a simple chicken curry, roasting vegetables, or marinating meat, Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder can provide a convenient and flavorful base. Think of it as a starting point that you can customize to your own taste preferences.\n\nHowever, if you're an experienced curry cook who prefers a more complex and intense flavor, you might find this blend a bit lacking. In that case, you might be better off making your own curry powder from scratch or exploring more specialized spice blends.\n\n## Conclusion: A Convenient and Mild Curry Powder Option\n\nFor $10.00, a pack of two Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder containers offers a good balance of convenience and value. While it may not be the most complex or intense curry powder on the market, its mild flavor and versatility make it a great option for beginner cooks and those who prefer a milder spice level. Consider it a reliable pantry staple for adding a touch of Indian flavor to your everyday meals.\n\nExpert Verdict: Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder is a good choice for those new to curry cooking or who prefer a mild, versatile flavor; however, more experienced cooks might prefer to create their own spice blends. It's a convenient and accessible option for adding a touch of Indian flavor to a variety of dishes. \n\n## Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)\n\nQ: Is Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder gluten-free?\nA: It's always recommended to check the product packaging for the most up-to-date allergen information.\n\nQ: How much Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder should I use?\nA: Start with 1-2 tablespoons per dish and adjust to your taste preference.\n\nQ: What's the shelf life of Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder?\nA: Check the packaging for the expiry date, but typically it lasts for several months when stored properly in a cool, dry place.\n\nQ: Where can I buy Sharwood's Medium Curry Powder?\nA: Sharwood's products are widely available in most major supermarkets and online retailers. Disappointed tbh. It looks cute in pics but the stitching on the ears started coming apart after one wash. also it’s not very absorbent, just kind of moves the water around.

The glow from these is just gorgeous. I was worried they wouldn't dim well but they work perfectly with my Lutron switch. Really brings that old-school vibe to the kitchen island.

Honestly pretty disappointed. The connector pin is super flimsy and I almost bent it trying to get it to seat properly. For the price TI charges for these things, you'd think they could make the build quality a bit more robust. Plus it didn't even come fully charged.

We bought this for my in-laws when they visited last month and honestly I was worried they'd be sore the next day. But they actually loved it! It inflates really fast with the built-in pump and feels much more substantial than those cheap ones you get at big box stores. My only tiny gripe is that it's a bit heavy to lug around when it's folded up, but I guess that's the price for it being so sturdy.

Honestly pretty disappointed. The lid doesn't sit quite right and it seems to cook way hotter than my old crock pot used to. Burnt my beef stew on the low setting which shouldn't happen.
